Nancy Elizabeth Thigpen, 47, died on Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit.
She was the wife of the William C. Thigpen (Conrail-Mechanical & IT, (1978-1999)), with whom she celebrated 24 years of marriage.
Born in Drexel Hill, she was the daughter of the late August M. and Betty Blair Pagel.
She was a graduate of Delaware County Community College and worked for Conrail (1980-87), Amtrak and many retail stores. Her last employment was with the Macy’s store in Exton as a beauty advisor for Clinique. She was a former deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Springfield.
In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by her children, Matthew William, Alexander Martin and Kathryn Elizabeth; and three sisters, Diane, Eileen and Cindy; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Weddle Thigpen, and sister-in-law, Jane Thigpen Casazza.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, 356 Summit Road, (Summit and Cascade Roads) Springfield, PA 19064.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center at Paoli Memorial Hospital, 255 W. Lancaster Ave., Paoli, PA 19301
